Career and Inspiration
What made you fall in love with Pilates?
The slow, controlled movements. I love that every exercise blends stretch with strength—it’s a full mind-body experience.
What’s the most rewarding part of being an instructor?
Watching clients progress. Seeing the results of their hard work and consistency is everything.
How do you keep your classes fresh and engaging?
I keep it spicy by practicing regularly myself—experimenting with new moves and combinations that inspire me and challenge my clients.
Did you have a mentor or someone who inspired your journey in fitness?
Yes—Suzanne Kenney, my very first circus and aerial acrobatics coach in my early teens. She pushed me to be my best, physically and mentally, in and out of training.
Teaching Style and Philosophy
How do you approach teaching clients of different skill levels?
I always start by getting everyone into the primary movement. Then I scan the room to offer modifications or amplifications based on what each client needs. I love creating space for exploration at every level.
What’s your favorite way to motivate someone who is struggling in class?
I’ll go up to them directly, offer a variation to help them succeed, and give tons of praise for showing up and pushing through!
How do you balance challenge and accessibility in your classes?
I start everyone in the correct placement and let them settle into the movement. From there, I introduce ways to either scale back or turn up the heat—giving each client the freedom to choose their intensity.
If someone is nervous about trying Pilates for the first time, what would you say to them?
I get it—starting something new can be scary! But you’ll always be in a supportive, welcoming environment at BE Fit, and I’ll be right there to guide you every step of the way.
Personal Life and Hobbies
Do you have any hobbies or passions outside of Pilates?
I love exploring new ways to challenge my body physically. I’m also a major foodie—restaurants, food trucks, all of it! And of course, I cherish time with my partner and pups.
What’s a perfect day off for you?
Coffee and journaling in the morning, followed by yoga or a workout. After that, it’s quality time with my little family and fur babies.
If you weren’t a Pilates instructor, what would you be doing?
Probably performing circus arts full-time and traveling the world as an acrobat.
Do you have a favorite travel destination or dream place to visit?
My favorite travel destination would have to be Rome. I’m a huge nerd for Roman history and I love all the food in Italy! Give me pizza, pasta, and an Aperol spritz all day every day.
Fun and Quirky
What’s your guilty pleasure (food, TV show, etc.)?
True crime documentaries and white cheddar popcorn. Yum!
If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Sia. Her music helped me through some of the darkest times in my life. I’d love the chance to thank her for the light she puts into the world.
What’s the most unexpected item in your gym bag?
One of the most unexpected items that one would find in my gym bag is a sewing kit. You just never know when you might need to sew something up lol
Do you have a hidden talent?
Still searching for that one!
Fitness Tips and Advice
What’s your go-to move or stretch to combat sitting all day?
Downward-facing dog—an instant reset for the whole body.
How do you stay consistent with your own fitness routine?
I create playlists that motivate me, take photos/videos to track my form, and write in my tattered journal full of ideas and training notes.
What’s the biggest misconception about Pilates you’d like to clear up?
That it’s easy! Pilates demands insane control, precision, and body awareness. It’s as much mental as it is physical. The slow and controlled movements are extremely challenging and it takes not only a huge amount of physical stamina but mental as well.
What’s one thing you wish more clients knew about Pilates?
One thing that I wish clients knew about Pilates is it history. It dates back as early as the 1890s when Joseph Pilates started incorporating yoga, gymnastics, and tai chi. As the years have gone by, Pilates was first introduced to United States in the 1920s to the New York City ballet. It’s amazing how far this method has come. I actually love giving little history lessons in class—lol!
